Transfer deadline day: the biggest completed deals in photos

The transfer window came to a close around continental Europe on Monday, and the shut in the Premier League on Tuesday. Now that the dust has settled, check out the biggest moves of the window's final days.

Anthony Martial: AS Monaco to Manchester United, undisclosed

After spending much of the summer fluttering their eyelashes at a host of defenders, Gareth Bale, Pedro, two-thirds of Bayern Munich's forward line and briefly Marco Reus, Manchester United eventually settled on 19-year-old striker Anthony Martial. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but ESPN FC sources indicate the Mancunians paid £36 million for the French international -- the most ever paid for a teenager.

Julian Draxler: Schalke 04 to VfL Wolfsburg, undisclosed

Juventus chased Julian Draxler all summer, hoping the German international would be the catalyst in a new-look midfield. But it was Wolfsburg, after losing Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City, who nabbed Draxler for a fee reported to be €36m.

Victor Moses: Chelsea to West Ham, loan

Victor Moses has spent two of the three seasons of his Chelsea career on loan, and he will spent 2015-16 away from his parent club, too. The Nigerian international penned a fresh four-year-contract at Stamford Bridge before joining West Ham on a season-long loan.

DeAndre Yedlin: Tottenham to Sunderland, loan

A loan deal always seemed likely for DeAndre Yedlin, who's made just two substitute appearances for Tottenham since joining the club in January. The U.S. international sat behind Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier in the Spurs pecking order at right-back, but should find more opportunities during his season-long loan at Sunderland.

Javier Hernandez: Manchester United to Bayer Leverkusen, £7.3 million

After a season on the fringe at Manchester United in 2013-14 and an unsuccessful loan spell at Real Madrid last term, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez has finally made his move away from Old Trafford. The Mexican international moves to Bayer Leverkusen on a permanent deal, despite scoring 59 times in 157 appearances in a limited role for the Premier League giants.

Adem Ljajic: Roma to Inter Milan, loan

Adem Ljajic's move from the Stadio Olimpico to the San Siro was tied up at the last minute, with Inter announcing the season-long loan of the Serbian with an option to buy just two minutes before the Italian window shut.

Ramiro Funes Mori: River Plate to Everton, £9.5 million

After an appeals process secured Ramiro Funes Mori a work permit, the Argentine finalised his move to Merseyside on Monday. Funes Mori joins Everton after helping backstop River Plate to a Copa Libertadores crown in August, their first since 1996.

Jakub Blaszczykowski: Borussia Dortmund to Fiorentina, loan

Chasing regular playing time ahead of the 2016 European Championship, it always seemed likely that Jakub Blaszczykowski would search for an exit from Borussia Dortmund. The Pole should see plenty of minutes at Fiorentina, who have the option to make the yearlong loan a permanent signing come the end of the season.

Adnan Januzaj: Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund, loan

The 20-year-old Belgian attacking midfielder has plenty of promise but despite starting three of United's past four games, he was deemed surplus at the tail end of the transfer window. Borussia Dortmund will be a fine place for him to continue his development and the German club are certainly excited to have him: "Adnan is a highly gifted and technically gifted player who completes our attacking department," said BVB director Michael Zorc after completing the deal.

Papy Djilobodji: Nantes to Chelsea, £2.7 million

The 26-year-old Senegalese defender and defensive midfielder was something of a surprise signing by the Premier League champions as the window closed, but his size and tenacity should be useful as the Blues look to defend their title. Djilobodji had been at Nantes since 2009 and helped them clinch promotion to Ligue 1 in 2013.

Hernanes: Inter Milan to Juventus, €11 million

In a summer that saw two key midfielders leaving Turin (Andrea Pirlo to New York City FC, Arturo Vidal to Bayern Munich), Italy's top team added replacements on the final day of the European transfer window by securing the 30-year-old Brazilian from the San Siro. Hernanes' passing vision and playmaking will improve Massimiliano Allegri's side.

Joleon Lescott: West Bromwich Albion to Aston Villa, undisclosed

Lescott has struggled with injuries since swapping Manchester City for the Hawthorns in 2014 but should prove extremely useful for Tim Sherwood's side in shoring up a defence that conceded 57 goals in the league last season. Said Sherwood of the 33-year-old, for whom Villa had actually agreed a deal last week: "He's a player who has great Premier League experience and he'll be a huge help to the younger members of our squad." Villa had wanted Lescott last summer only to be denied by West Brom.

Virgil van Dijk: Celtic to Southampton, undisclosed

It wouldn't be a transfer window at St. Mary's without comings and goings and Ronald Koeman's late signing of the 24-year-old Dutch centre-back softens the blow of failing to sign last season's loanee, Toby Alderweireld, who chose Tottenham for a permanent move. Van Dijk agreed a five-year deal with the Premier League side after more than 100 appearances for the Scottish champions. Said Saints executive director of football Les Reed of their new defender: "[Van Dijk] is still a young man, but a very mature young man who has played a very good level of football at Celtic and in Europe. He's had an excellent upbringing and still has a lot of time ahead of him."

Alex Song: Barcelona to West Ham, loan

The Hammers have had an impressive start to the 2015-16 season with wins over Arsenal and Liverpool, but fans will be elated at securing the Barcelona midfielder for another season-long loan. Song, 27, made 28 Premier League appearances last season; he managed just 34 total appearances for parent club Barcelona since entering the Camp Nou back in 2012.

Dante: Bayern Munich to Wolfsburg, free

Despite a number of injuries to key defenders, Bayern had no problem with letting the 31-year-old Brazilian centre-back joining a Bundesliga rival for free this summer, with his form linking him to a move away since the 2014 World Cup. Dante signed a three-year contract with Wolfsburg and his former club wished him all the best in his new challenge: "Dante simply wanted the chance to play regularly. We did not want to deny him this opportunity," said club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
