Tottenham loaned United States international DeAndre Yedlin to fellow Premier League side Sunderland shortly before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.
Yedlin, 22, left the Seattle Sounders last summer to sign with Tottenham but found regular playing time difficult to come by at White Hart Lane last season.

The speedy full-back turned heads with his displays at the World Cup in 2014 but has made just two substitute appearances for Tottenham.
Spurs signed Burnley defender Kevin Trippier earlier this summer, pushing Yedlin farther down the pecking order, and he is more likely to see time on the pitch with Sunderland.
Yedlin will be the third American to play for Sunderland, following Claudio Reyna's two years from 2001-2003, and Jozy Altidore's mostly disappointing stint from 2013 until January of this year.
"I've heard fantastic things about Sunderland and the supporters from Claudio Reyna and Jozy Altidore," Yedlin told Sunderland's website.
"Claudio speaks very highly of [Sunderland manager] Dick Advocaat from his time at Rangers."
Yedlin, who has made 23 appearances for the United States, was called up by coach Jurgen Klinsmann for this month's friendlies against Peru and Brazil.
He will likely have to wait until at least Sept. 19 to make his debut for the Black Cats, as his new club play Tottenham in their next fixture after the international break. Players on loan are generally not allowed to play against their parent clubs in the Premier League.
The Seattle native is Sunderland's eighth signing of the summer, joining Fabio Borini, Jeremain Lens, Yann M'Vila, Ola Toivonen, Younes Kaboul, Seb Coates and Adam Matthews at the Stadium of Light.
