Tom Carroll signs new Tottenham Hotspur contract until 2019

Tom Carroll is the latest Tottenham Hotspur player to sign a new long-term contract after committing his future to the club until 2019.

Earlier on Friday, Harry Winks agreed a five-year extension with Spurs, while Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier have also signed long-term deals in the past fortnight.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Tottenham are also close to announcing new contracts for Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, while Erik Lamela, Jan Vertonghen and Harry Kane are in discussions with the club.

Last season, Spurs exercised an option to extend Carroll's deal by two years and his old contract was due to expire in 2018.

Carroll, 24, made 19 Premier League appearances last season, with 15 from the bench, and started four times in the club's Europa League campaign, including the first leg of the round-of-16 tie against Borussia Dortmund.

On Friday, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said: "I need to say that the club has made a big effort to try to keep all our talent. I think it's fantastic for the club and my feeling is we need to do more because the club gives us a lot of very good things.

"We need to show more as a team -- more passion, more desire. The club is working very well in this aspect and it's always good to hear young players have extended their contracts and shown their commitment to the club."
