Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris passed fit for Stoke City trip

LONDON -- Hugo Lloris is fit for Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League match at Stoke City on Saturday but Danny Rose is set for at least two matches on the sidelines, manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed.

Spurs captain Lloris has missed the club's last two games -- and France's recent internationals -- with a hamstring problem after the goalkeeper limped off 25 minutes into the 1-1 draw at Everton on the opening day of the season.

Michel Vorm has performed well in Lloris' absence but Pochettino told a news conference the Frenchman is available to return at the bet365 Stadium.

"Hugo is good," he said. "The last two weeks he has trained very well. He is ready and available for Saturday."

However, Spurs will be without Rose after the left-back suffered a hamstring strain in England's 1-0 World Cup qualifying win in Slovakia on Sunday.

"He feels very disappointed to get an injury with the national team," Pochettino said. "I hope it's not a big, big problem and we hope he recovers as soon as possible. He's out for Stoke, and maybe Monaco too."

Pochettino remains without midfielder Mousa Dembele, who will serve the last match of his suspension this weekend, but he said new signing Moussa Sissoko was likely to be in the squad.

The Spurs manager expects to make full use of his 25-man squad in the coming weeks but insists he will not rest players at Stoke ahead of the Londoners' Champions League return against AS Monaco next week.

"Now we start Saturday, seven games in 20 days," he said. "Until Christmas it's a crazy schedule but I'm sure we will play different names in different position, and rotate the squad. All players have the chance to play and show their qualities.

"The most important game is Saturday against Stoke. We don't change because Wednesday is another important game. The Stoke game is the most important.

"At Tottenham we have a squad to compete in every competition and it's important to keep the level. For instance, Sissoko can help us to compete in all competitions with the same guarantee."
