Tottenham's Danny Rose a doubt for Monaco match with injury - source

Danny Rose is a doubt for Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League opener against Monaco next Wednesday after picking up an injury on England duty, a source has told ESPN FC.

The left-back is very unlikely to be risked in Saturday's Premier League match at Stoke City and is doubtful for Spurs' first Champions League game since 2011 after he felt his hamstring in England's 1-0 win in Slovakia on Sunday.

Ben Davies -- who made his first appearance of the season in Wales' 4-0 win over Malta on Monday -- is expected to deputise at The Bet365 Stadium and could keep his place for Wednesday's match at Wembley if Rose has not recovered.

Rose played the full match in the 2018 World Cup qualifier in Trnava and set up Adam Lallana's 95th-minute winner.
