Barcelona defender Dani Alves says Isco is one of the only Real Madrid players he would pardon for kicking Neymar in last month's Clasico.
Isco was shown a straight red card after he hacked down Neymar during Barca's 4-0 La Liga win at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and was subsequently handed a two-match ban by the authorities.
Isco was applauded by some Madrid fans as he left the pitch on the day, and former Blancos players Manuel "Manolo" Sanchis and Hipolito "Poli" Rincon both suggested that Neymar had incited the kick by repeatedly dribbling past his opponents.
Barcelona reacted to those comments by denouncing both Sanchis and Rincon to the Spanish sports ministry's "Anti-violence commission," while Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique has said that, no matter what a player does on the pitch, opponents do not have the right to hurt them.
Isco has since apologised for his actions, and Alves told radio show "El Partido de los 12" that he would be happy to let bygones be bygones in Isco's case.
"[Isco] is one of the few Madrid players who I would pardon for this," the Brazil right-back said. "I like him so much that I am able to let him off whatever he does. Sometimes you can boil over, and that's what happened to him."
Alves also suggested that teammate Lionel Messi was going to win the 2015 Ballon d'Or award, while questioning whether Cristiano Ronaldo deserved to have made the final three-man shortlist.
"Leo is a little bit ahead, among the top players," he said. "He is the best in the world, and Neymar is second.
"Cristiano does not deserve to be among the three finalists for the Ballon d'Or. Last year he won on his own merits, because he won important things, but the best player in the world must have more influence in the general play, not just score goals. People forget this is a team game."
