Mauro Icardi plans Inter Milan stay despite Arsenal, Napoli, Juventus talk

Mauro Icardi has moved to bring an end to speculation linking him with a move away from Inter Milan this summer by saying he is happy with the Nerazzurri.

Fuelled largely by comments made by his wife and agent Wanda Nara, Icardi has been linked with moves to Napoli, Juventus and, more recently, Arsenal this summer.

However, the 23-year-old insists he is going nowhere, telling Il Corriere dello Sport that he intends to fulfil his contract in Milan.

"I'm here and I'm happy here," he said. "I've said this all the time. I have a contract with Inter through to 2019 and they are my club. The club has to talk about the other things.

"I'm just working on getting better, playing well and making things difficult for the coach."

Speaking to reporters after Inter's 2-1 friendly win over Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Icardi reiterated how the rumours are not getting to him.

"I've been at Inter for three years and for each of these three years, I've been hearing the same things," he said. "I'm an Interista. It's my whole family's desire to stay here."

Nara is seeking an improvement to the terms of Icardi's contract, but Icardi is focusing on is his footbal and fulfilling his dream of playing in the Champions League next season.

"That was the aim 12 months ago and we didn't manage to reach it," he said. "Inter deserve to be playing in the Champions League, and then naturally we will try to go as far as we can in the Europa League this season.

"We're growing and getting increasingly mature. Playing together as a group for some time is going to help us too. We want to do well and put Juventus under pressure. You can never tell what might happen in football. Barcelona have the best players in the world, but they don't always win in Spain and in Europe.

"That could also happen to Juve and this is why we have to be ready to take advantage. Serie A is a difficult league, but who knows."
