Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini remained coy on his hopes of landing Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi after his side's 1-0 friendly defeat to the French champions on Wednesday.
Argentina international Lavezzi, 30, joined PSG from Napoli in 2012 but has been linked with a return to Serie A for some time.
PSG coach Laurent Blanc has suggested a deal may be possible and he and Mancini joked about the transfer before Wednesday's game in Doha.
After the match, Mancini gave little away, saying: "It's still early. We will see."
He joked: "Anyway, I saw him [Lavezzi] get on the PSG bus!"
Inter are currently top of Serie A as they seek a first league title since Jose Mourinho's side won the Treble in 2009-10, but Mancini -- who won the league three times during his previous stint in charge of the Nerazzurri -- said the focus was on Champions League qualification.
"We try to give our best always, and if we can maintain our league position until the last three matches of the season we will try to win it," he said. "But let's not forget what our primary aim was: the Champions League."
On the defeat to PSG, he said: "This was our first match after a week's rest. It was a useful game in terms of finding the right form. PSG are always a strong opponent, even when several players are missing."
Inter president Erick Thohir, also in Doha to watch the friendly, said he was pleased with Mancini's work so far, with the team a point clear of Fiorentina and Napoli and three points ahead of defending champions Juventus in fourth.
Thohir told BeIN Sports: "I believe in this team and this coach, and I'm satisfied with how we're doing in the league."
He added: "I am happy to be visiting the team here in Doha, a beautiful city in a country where the love of football is growing rapidly -- and Inter are growing too, both on and off the pitch.
"We need to keep working hard."
