Jose Mourinho: Chelsea have not made second bid for John Stones

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that the club have yet to make a second bid for Everton defender John Stones and confirmed that Filipe Luis has left to rejoin Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho revealed that he had made a £20 million bid for Stones earlier this week, which was rejected by the club and saw Everton boss Roberto Martinez criticise the Portuguese for making his interest public.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Mourinho is preparing a second bid of £26m in the coming days, but the Chelsea boss has not yet made his move and says that he's happy with how his squad is shaping up already.

"You are speaking with the manager of the best team in England. We are a top team, we have top players. We don't need other players, we trust these players," he said after his side's friendly defeat against New York Red Bulls.

Chelsea will have to sign a new left-back, however, as Mourinho confirmed that Filipe Luis will return to Atletico Madrid.

"We sold Filipe," Mourinho added. "We have the best left-back in England -- [Cesar] Azpilicueta."
