Arjen Robben excited by Bayern Munich's cup clash at Wolfsburg

Arjen Robben said Bayern Munich's DFB Pokal second-round tie at holders Wolfsburg will be "like a Champions League match" as he prepares to make his second appearance in a week.

Robben, 31, returned to the Bayern side after an absence of nearly two months at the weekend, scoring in the 4-0 win over Cologne as he was given a central role, with Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa on the wings.

The Netherlands international played 65 minutes in that game and is expected to start once more in Tuesday's cup clash against Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena.

"It'll be a top match at a very high level -- like in the Champions League, I'd say," Robben told Bayern's official website.

Bayern boss Pep Guardiola did not confirm whether Robben would be in the starting XI but said the player was in good physical shape.

"He's happy and laughing a lot," he said. "Everything's OK, his body too."

Bayern will also have Javi Martinez available, but they will be without Mario Gotze, Franck Ribery, Sebastian Rode, Medhi Benatia and Holger Badstuber for the game.

The absentees will make Bayern's task all the more difficult against Wolfsburg, who beat Guardiola's men 4-1 in the Bundesliga in January and again on penalties in the German Supercup in August.

Die Wolfe have since lost Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City, and suffered a 5-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena last month, but Dieter Hecking's men are slowly regaining the form that saw them win the DFB Pokal and finish second in the Bundesliga last season.

"I like this pressure, these knockout matches -- you're either through or out," Guardiola said. "It's a final. In a final you have to act like you're in a final. We have to play with lots of energy."

Bayern have won each of their last four cup clashes with Wolfsburg, most recently in the 2012-13 semifinal when Jupp Heynckes' side went on to win the Treble, but Hecking said his side would go into the tie with optimism.

"We are not favourites, but we have no reason to hide," the Wolfsburg coach said. "We can go into this game confidently. On Tuesday it's a case of 'win or you're out!' We want to progress to the next round."

Speaking to Sky News, Hecking also said that it would be "a fundamental mistake" to only focus on Robert Lewandowski, who scored all five goals in last month's game.

"I am convinced he won't score five in nine minutes again but, regardless, he is an attacker who has shown his qualities throughout the years," he said. "But he came off the bench in that match where he scored -- Bayern just have enormous quality."
