Spanish manager Vicente Del Bosque believes that a German International player should win the Ballon d'Or after their World Cup triumph. (2:18)

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola said he was looking forward to "a great game" when Germany take on Spain in a friendly in Vigo on Tuesday, praising Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso for his impact at the club.

Alonso, 32, joined the Bundesliga champions from Real Madrid during the final days of the summer transfer window, making his debut for the club less than 48 hours after his move had been finalised.

He has since started all but one game, and Guardiola told Bayern's official website: "Moving to a new country is a big problem for some players, but it doesn't bother others in the slightest.

"Xabi Alonso fitted in very fast. Our style of play suits some more than others, so there's no simple rule. But if a player has the desire to help the team, he'll fit in well sooner or later."

His fellow Spaniard Juan Bernat, 21, has also made an immediate impression, and the ex-Valencia left-back could face Munich colleagues Mario Gotze and Thomas Muller in Tuesday's showdown between the World Cup winners and the European champions.

Guardiola, who won 47 caps for Spain between 1992 and 2001, said: "I'm really looking forward to a great game. Both teams have an outstanding coach and great players.

"The pitch in Vigo is good. Both teams like to get forward and want the ball. I just hope no one on either side gets injured."
