Antoine Griezmann level with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi - Bacary Sagna

Antoine Griezmann can go on to rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, according to France teammate Bacary Sagna.

Griezmann, 25, came through the ranks in Spain with Real Sociedad after failing to make the grade in France, but he has proven to be Les Bleus' main man at Euro 2016 with six goals and two assists.

That followed on from a domestic season in which the Atletico Madrid forward reached the Champions League final and scored 32 goals in 54 appearances at club level.

Sagna believes that form shows Griezmann is ready to establish himself as one of the top players in the world.

"Ronaldo, we know him. He's one of the best players in the world -- if not the best -- and he has worked very hard to get there," Sagna told a news conference on Saturday ahead of Sunday's final against Ronaldo's Portugal.. "Antoine, to me, is right up there too, in the same league as Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

"It's a kind of revenge for him after the French academies wouldn't take him. He made it the hard way and he deserves to be where he is."

That praise follows Blaise Matuidi saying Griezmann is a candidate to win the Ballon d'Or and he would vote for his France teammate.

Sagna will be tasked with marshalling Ronaldo in the final on Sunday night, but he is confident he knows what he has to do to keep his direct opponent in check.

"He's an exceptional player and it won't be easy," Sagna said. "What you have to do is keep a close eye on him all the time, stay close to him and make sure you don't allow him too much space.

"I'm used to playing against excellent players every weekend so no, I'm not afraid."
