Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski will '100%' stay - Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has reiterated to kicker that Robert Lewandowski will definitely remain with the club next season.

Lewandowski, 29, is under contract until 2021 and has scored 32 goals this season for Treble-seeking Bayern. Last month, he hired agent Pini Zahavi, renewing speculation that he could be preparing his exit after having joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.

Zahavi, 74, played a pivotal role in Neymar's record transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Bayern's top scorer, and Real Madrid and Chelsea are also long-standing admirers of the Poland captain.

"It's well known that I like to make a bet every now and again," Rummenigge told kicker. "I'll gladly take the bet that Robert is 100 percent playing for Bayern Munich next season.

"Robert is an extremely important member of our team and, perhaps, the best striker in Europe."

Rummenigge insisted there were parallels to 10 years ago when Bayern reportedly turned down Chelsea's offer of €65 million and Jose Bosingwa for Franck Ribery.

"I like to recall 2008, when we received what was an amazing offer at the time for Ribery," Rummenigge said. "From that moment on, the football world knew that nobody can buy a Bayern Munich player against our will."

Ribery, 34, has become the club's longest serving player after signing from Marseille in 2007.

Asked if the club's transfer policy would remain the same for Lewandowski, Rummenigge said it is.

"What is our motivation to change our direction?" he said.

Meanwhile, Rummenigge also played down speculation linking Bayern with a move for Bordeaux winger Malcom.

Malcom, 21, has scored eight goals and added six assists in 27 Ligue 1 appearances this season and said last week that a move to the German champions would be a "dream."

He had been previously linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but Sport Bild reported last month that the Brazilian winger had provisionally agreed terms on a five-year deal with the Bundesliga champions.

"That is a red herring that has landed on a Munich lake," Rummenigge said.

The executive said that contracts talks with Ribery and Arjen Robben are set for next month. Both veteran wingers are entering the final months of their one-year deals.

"We have agreed with both of them that we will talk again at the start of April -- that's not so long away," Rummenigge said.
