Paco Alcacer backed by Luis Enrique, Barca teammates despite goal drought

Luis Enrique claims he's not worried about Paco Alcacer's goal drought after the striker missed three good chances to break his Barcelona duck against Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.

Alcacer came on as a substitute at half-time, replacing Luis Suarez, as Barca returned to winning ways in La Liga with a 4-0 win over Depor at Camp Nou.

A frustrating 45 minutes ensued for the former Valencia frontman, though, as he was twice denied by visiting goalkeeper German Lux before missing from point-blank range in stoppage time.

"Forwards want to score however possible but he didn't have any luck today," Enrique said about his €30 million summer signing.

"The good thing is he's [scoring] in training and it would worry me if he wasn't getting chances [in games].

"Suarez struggled as well [to score his first goal]. It will arrive naturally. I like the reaction of the supporters [to his misses] and how focused he was in order to find those chances."

Alcacer is now without a goal in six games since his August transfer from the Mestalla, although four of those appearances have come as a substitute.

The 23-year-old insisted this week that he's not panicking about the wait for his first goal and he can also count on the backing of his teammates, too.

"[Alcacer] needs to be left in peace," Ivan Rakitic said after the Depor win. "The most important thing is that he's getting chances. He'll get a bit of luck in no time and start scoring."

Rafinha, who scored two of the goals in Saturday's win over Gaizka Garitano's side, also backed Alcacer to come good given time.

"He's just lacking the ball going in the goal and once it does, many goals will follow," the midfielder said. "We've already said that. [Alcacer] is a born goal scorer and he has a nose for goal."
