Barcelona's Paco Alcacer: Atletico Madrid stronger side than Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid, not Real Madrid, are the club Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer fears most in La Liga this season.

Diego Simeone's Atletico side won the title in 2014 and currently lead the table ahead of city rivals Madrid on goal difference after seven games.

They held Barca to a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou in September and have knocked the Catalan side out of the Champions League in two of the last three seasons.

"They both play in a different way," Alcacer said in an interview with Cadena Cope when asked about Atletico and Madrid.

"Atletico Madrid are doing better recently and it's more difficult to beat them [than Real] because of their style of play.

"I try not to stay up over-thinking things, but it's clear that [Diego] Simeone's style is really tough and he wants to win all the time."

Alcacer is yet to get off the mark for his new club since a €30 million summer move from Valencia.

He has started two games for the Blaugrana -- the loss to Alaves and the Champions League win over Borussia Monchengladbach -- and has come on as a substitute on three further occasions.

However, the closest Alcacer has come to a goal is when Sporting Gijon goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar tipped his effort onto the bar and Neymar scored the rebound.

Despite his mini-drought, the 23-year-old gives his start to life in Catalonia "a nine or a 10" and says he's not feeling the pressure to score just yet.

"Everyone is keen for [their first goal] to go in, even more so when you've changed scenery," he said. "It's always difficult to adapt at the beginning and the most complicated [goal] is the first one.

"It's not weighing me down too much, though. A little, yes, because all strikers want to score goals, but I have always said it's important to remain calm in these situations. I hope I score my first goal with Barca soon -- for example, this weekend [against Deportivo La Coruna]."
