Harry Kane returns from injury for Tottenham against Real Madrid in UCL

Harry Kane has been named in the Tottenham starting XI for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Kane missed Spurs' defeats to West Ham and Manchester United last week after suffering a minor hamstring strain and Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino was cautious on his chances of facing the European champions at Wembley.

But the England international took part in training drills on Tuesday, and the Champions League top goal scorer has been passed fit.

Dele Alli makes his first Champions League appearance of the season against Madrid after being banned for the first three group matches.

Kane comes into the team in place of Son Heung-Min, who started the defeat to Man United. Kieran Trippier is in the XI instead of Serge Aurier and Davinson Sanchez is preferred to Moussa Sissoko.

Real Madrid make only one change from the shock defeat at Girona on Sunday, with Nacho coming in for Raphael Varane.

Spurs are level with Real on seven points at the top of their Champions League group after a 1-1 draw in Spain a fortnight ago.

Tottenham: Lloris, Trippier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Winks, Eriksen, Dele, Kane

Real Madrid: Casilla, Hakimi, Nacho, Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema.
