MANCHESTER, England -- Romelu Lukaku is a doubt for Manchester United's FA Cup tie at Wolves, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said.
Belgium international Lukaku suffered a foot injury in training and faces a fitness test ahead of the trip to Molineux on Saturday.
"He's had a sore foot this week so he's being assessed," Solskjaer told a news conference on Friday. "Hopefully he'll get through."
Ashley Young is suspended after picking up two bookings in the FA Cup and Alexis Sanchez is also sidelined.
But Solskjaer said there was a chance that Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard -- who sat down for an interview with ESPN this week -- could make comebacks after recovering from hamstring injuries.
"Phil Jones is back," Solskjaer said. "There have been so many players out.
"Anthony [Martial] is back, Ander has been training and Jesse has been training. We've got a decision to make [on Saturday] on who's match fit."
The trip to Wolves is United's first game since the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates -- Solskjaer's first domestic loss as caretaker manager.
The result ended a run of 12 Premier League games unbeaten, but Solskjaer said momentum had not been lost and defended the performance at the Emirates.
"We weren't s---!" he said. "You're always measured on results, but we played a good game against Arsenal.
"We have played so much worse and won games, and that's the strange thing in football when you're a manager -- you can look behind the result and say that was a good performance but we didn't get what we deserved.
"Sometimes you can say that was a bad performance but we won, then you are happy. It's so strange.
"The Arsenal one, very disappointed in the result, it hurts more than anything, but it's not like we can't look at the performance and say we were s--- because we weren't. Sorry. To be honest and blunt, we weren't. We played well."
Meanwhile, Solskjaer offered support to Paul Scholes, who resigned as Oldham manager after just 31 days on Thursday, extending an invitation to his former United teammate to visit Carrington.
"He's probably got his reasons why he left," Solskjaer said. "You've got to ask him.
"He's invited here if he wants to come and have a little chat about it. We've texted, and it didn't work out. That's just management."
