Marcus Rashford contract talks ongoing with Man United - sources

Manchester United are in talks with Marcus Rashford's representatives over a possible new deal, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

Rashford, 18, only signed a new four-year deal with United in May, but United officials are aware of the growing importance the teenager now has at Old Trafford.

United officials are in constant dialogue with Rashford's representatives over improving his terms as reward for his continued progress at the club.

Rashford, who scored in Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Watford, has worked his way into Jose Mourinho's starting XI in recent weeks after beginning the season on the bench.

The forward has started the last two games against Feyenoord and Watford after impressing when coming off the bench in the games against Hull City and Manchester City.

United are determined to keep Rashford settled at the club and they want the player to be aware that they are happy to improve his deal if he continues to impress at Old Trafford, with reports saying he could be made the highest-paid teenager in world football.

Rashford is still among the lowest earners in United's first team and the club are keen to ensure the striker is brought in line with other players to avoid any unrest.

The England international has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame at United since making his first-team breakthrough in February with two goals on his debut against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, before following that up with two goals on his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
