Adnan Januzaj won't end Borussia Dortmund loan early - Michael Zorc

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has ruled out Adnan Januzaj cutting short his loan at the club to return to Manchester United.

Januzaj, 20, signed for Dortmund on a season-long loan in the summer and he has since made five Bundesliga appearances, recording one assist.

In all competitions the winger has featured in nine Dortmund games and has played a full 90 minutes only once in the first Europa League match against Krasnodar.

Earlier this week, reports suggested United manager Louis van Gaal is considering calling a premature end to the Belgian's loan.

"That's currently not an issue," Zorc told kicker, but admitted that it's difficult for the youngster to break into BVB's starting XI.

"We play an extraordinary season, and the others do an incredible job. There is no reason to bench them."

Dortmund's attacking line of Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gonzalo Castro and Shinji Kagawa has scored 57 of Dortmund's 71 goals.

In Januzaj's first match for the club he needed to be withdrawn with after 64 minutes, and has since been playing catch-up with his fitness.

According to Zorc, Januzaj is now making steady progress "regarding physicalness and robustness."

It was reported in early September that Dortmund do not have an option for a permanent deal, although will have first refusal should United decide they wish to cash in.
