Borussia Dortmund having 'a lot of fun' after setting Bundesliga record - Ginter

Matthias Ginter says Borussia Dortmund are enjoying life under new coach Thomas Tuchel after winning nine consecutive games and recording the best ever start in the Bundesliga's 53-year history.

Dortmund beat Hannover 4-2 at the Niedersachsenstadion on Saturday to collect a maximum 12 points for the new season, having scored 15 and conceded just three goals in the process.

Bayern also had four wins out of four with a goal difference of plus 12 in both 1972 and 2012, but scored fewer goals than Dortmund.

BVB have now won all nine competitive matches of the new season -- a club record -- scoring 34 goals and conceding eight to lead the German top flight and make it through to the Europa League group stages.

"At the moment it's just a lot of fun to be out there," BVB's makeshift right-back Matthias Ginter told reporters. The youngster -- who nearly left the club for Borussia Monchengladbach this summer -- has scored once and set up a further six in his six matches this season, and is just one of many players flourishing under new boss Thomas Tuchel.

Following the victory at Hannover, the travelling Dortmund fans chanted "Only BVB will be the German champions" -- and even captain Mats Hummels found it difficult not to get too carried away.

The Germany international believes that Dortmund -- who were bottom of the league in January last season -- have made up a lot of ground on the champions in recent weeks, adding: "It's pretty close now."

Seven players have already found the back of the net for Dortmund this season, and so did Hannover's Felipe, who handed BVB the 3-2 lead with an own goal on Saturday. Only Gladbach have scored more times in the first four games of a Bundesliga season, netting 17 in 1984.

Dortmund's start has not gone unnoticed in Munich: Bayern defender Jerome Boateng told kicker that BVB are "hungry" following three years behind the Bavarians, while Thomas Muller added that Tuchel's team look "very greedy" for goals.

Elsewhere, midfielder Nuri Sahin has resumed training with the ball over six months after his last league appearance in BVB's 3-0 victory over Schalke in late February.

The 27-year-old Turkey international has been sidelined with adductor problems since that game, and it remains unclear when the 27-year-old will return to team training.
