Vincenzo Montella wants AC Milan to keep low profile in Scudetto race

Vincenzo Montella has played down AC Milan's Serie A title chances after his side's confincing 3-1 win away to Chievo on Sunday.

Goals from Juraj Kucka, M'Baye Niang and an own-goal from Dario Danielli saw the Rossoneri continue their five-game unbeaten streak.

The win put them into third place behind Roma and league leaders Juventus, and Montella's team could close the gap when they entertain the Turin giants in next weekend's clash.

"I can feel the air of Europe now," Montella told Mediaset. "On Saturday we play against Juve, one of the best teams in Europe.

"Is it a Scudetto clash? Certain situations are not for us, we are keeping a low profile. Milan have been out of Europe for too long.

"I see the lads smiling now, as they needed confidence and good results help."

Montella also felt that Milan deserved the win at Chievo, despite the hosts having most of the goalscoring opportunities in the opening 45 minutes.

"It was a strong start from Chievo and we were not fluid enough, so I was not happy," he added.

"After the break I feel we did enough to deserve the victory, though we could've finished it off earlier.

"It's a deserved win against an excellent Chievo side that caused us real problems."
