Platinum punish Dynamos as Bosso and CAPS draw

Rodwell Chinyengetere scored a first-half brace to power FC Platinum to a 2-0 win over Dynamos on match-day 12 in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League on Sunday.

The reigning Player of the Year needed just four minutes to put his name on the scoresheet after taking advantage of some nervy Dynamos defending to slot home from close range and silence Rufaro Stadium.

The Harare giants were looking disorganised at the back, with a 3-5-2 formation deployed by coach Biggie Zuze not making matters any easier.

Ngezi compound CAPS woes, Dynamos win

Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League pacesetters Ngezi Platinum Stars stretched their lead at the top to three points following a comeback 2-1 win over CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Ngezi had not beaten CAPS in competitive football since being promoted to the topflight in 2016, and it looked as though that curse would continue after John Zhuwawo handed the hosts the lead with a deflected half-volley just before the half-hour mark.

It was only the third goal Ngezi have conceded...

Giants Dynamos, Highlanders lose; CAPS held

It was a bad weekend for the traditional giants of Zimbabwean football as both Highlanders and Dynamos suffered embarrassing defeats, while CAPS United needed a late equaliser to escape with a point at Shabanie Mine.

Dynamos went into their clash against Harare City looking to sustain a mini-revival which had seen them post two consecutive wins to end a seven-match winless run, only to find themselves 2-0 down inside the first quarter-hour.

Bright Chayambuka scored both goals for Mark Harrison's...

Ngezi's perfect start ends while Highlanders draw

David Temwanjira grabbed a last-gasp equaliser as Shabanie Mine ended the only remaining 100 percent record in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League by holding log leaders Ngezi Platinum to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Ngezi had gone to Mandava Stadium heavily tipped to make it six wins in a row following a flying start to the new campaign, and they looked the part early on as Terrence Dzukamanja put them ahead in the 37th minute after converting a Michael Charamba cross.

Tonderai Ndiraya's troops then missed...

Ngezi, Bosso, CAPS win, but Dynamos falter again

Ngezi Platinum emerged from match-day 5 with their title credentials reinforced after a last-gasp 1-0 win over Chicken Inn, but Highlanders and FC Platinum did their utmost to keep the pressure on the early pace-setters.

Forward Clive Augusto clinched the winner for Ngezi in the final moments of a tightly-contested encounter to enable the Mhondoro-based upstarts to preserve the only remaining 100 percent record in the new Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League season.

Remarkably, Ngezi are yet to concede...
