Sergio Ramos allayed the idea he has a troubled relationship with Gerard Pique after returning to play alongside the Barcelona defender during Spain's 2-1 World Cup qualifying win against Macedonia on Sunday.
Ramos was one of several Madrid players to chant "Pique, you b-----d, bow down to the champions" as Zinedine Zidane's side celebrated their La Liga title last month -- although Pique said at the time he was not offended by the celebrations.
Prior to that, the two exchanged words after April's Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Ramos blaming Pique's outspoken nature in the media and on social media for his second-half dismissal.
However, the two defenders remain central to Julen Lopetegui's Spain team and Ramos insists the rivalry between Madrid and Barca is not an issue when they join up for international duty.
"Everything's been really good with Pique," Ramos told reporters after Spain took another step towards qualifying for next summer's World Cup in Russia.
"There's a good friendship between us which is getting better every year -- and I think that can you can see that on the pitch each time we play together."
Ramos was also asked about current club and international teammate Alvaro Morata, who is reportedly close to agreeing a move to Premier League side Manchester United.
The Madrid captain was unable to offer assurances the striker would stay, but said there's no reason for Los Blancos to make wholesale changes this summer.
"We will see what happens with Morata," he said. "I have a special affection for him and always wish him the best.
"But it doesn't depend on me if he stays. If it depended on me, I would change very little. We have a complete team and everything's going well. Why fix something that's not broken?"
