Vincent Janssen 'lost 20 minutes of memory' after Simon Mignolet clash

Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen was substituted during Netherlands' 1-1 friendly draw with Belgium after colliding with Simon Mignolet resulting in him suffering a concussion.

The incident occurred in the 15th minute and saw Janssen challenge goalkeeper Mignolet for the ball, which the Belgian won fairly before catching the striker with his arm in the aftermath.

Janssen remained prone on the ground for a period before leaving the pitch in the 25th minute.

"Vincent Janssen is going to be a very difficult story," Netherlands boss Danny Blind said after the game.

"The physician told me it is a concussion. He lost 20 minutes of his memory, and doesn't know what happened.

"We have to be careful with that and talk it through."

Janssen is now a doubt to feature for Netherlands in their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.

Netherlands are third in Group A, behind France and Sweden, with four points from their opening three games.

Meanwhile, Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany pulled out of the game just minutes before kickoff.
