Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria rested

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero and Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria will not play for Argentina against Uruguay in Montevideo on Tuesday, according to reports.

Real Madrid's Di Maria will be rested.

With Argentina having already qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, coach Alejandro Sabella told a source that he prefers to rest the two rather than risk injury or suspension for future matches.

Argentina beat Peru 3-1 on Friday, and Tuesday's match is their final contest in the CONMEBOL qualifiers.

Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain, Javier Mascherano and Fernando Gago had already been left out of the squad for this round of qualifying matches because of injuries.

Information from ESPN Deportes and Efe News Agency was used in this report.
