Canada, El Salvador post wins in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying

Eight teams played the second legs of their CONCACAF 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday. Here's a look at which teams are moving on and which teams dreams of a trip to Russia are over.

Canada had no problem finishing off their second leg vs. Dominica, as they returned home to Toronto and BMO Field and put up a 4-0 win for a 6-0 aggregate final that sees them through to the next round.

Tosaint Ricketts had a brace for the home side and Tesho Akindele and Cyle Larin added goals for their country in the romp.

With two away goals an a 2-2 aggregate scoreline heading into the match, El Salvador made short work of St. Kitts and Nevis in a 4-1 win that gave them a 6-3 aggregate final for the tie.

Darwin Ceren scored in the second minute and teammate Nelson Bonilla added a brace to ensure their team stayed alive in 2018 World Cup qualifying.

Trailing 1-0 on aggregate after an away loss, Grenada returned home against Puerto Rico and won 2-0 to secure a 2-1 aggregate win and passage into the third round of the CONCACAF World Cup qualification playoffs.

Puerto Rico's Joan Morales scored an own goal to give Grenada an early lead, and the hosts Jamal Charles scored in the 81st minute to put his team through.

Nicaragua got goals from three different players to beat Suriname 3-1 (4-1 on aggregate) and stay alive in the qualifying playoff.

The hosts had hope early on as Roxey Fer scored in the third minute to give Suriname an early 1-0 lead, but the visitors came roaring back starting in the 26th minute with a Raul Leguias goal. Manuel Rosas gave Nicaragua it's second away goal all but putting the match away just after the break.

Fer left the game with a second yellow card in the 89th minute and Nicaragua added one more goal from Carlos Chavarria to finalize the team's move to the next round.
