Cyle Larin goal helps Canada win World Cup qualifier, El Salvador draw

Canada rode goals from MLS players Cyle Larin and Russell Teibert to a first-leg 2-0 win on the road over Dominica in their CONCACAF World Cup qualification opener.

Orlando City rookie Larin started things off at the five-minute mark to get the visitors on the board. Teibert, who plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps, added an insurance goal in the 64th minute.

The team's will meet again for the second leg on June 15 at BMO Field in Toronto.

El Salvador earned a 2-2 draw against St. Kitts and Nevis in the first leg of their qualifier, and the two away goals from Irving Herrera and Nelson Bonilla give the visitors a leg up in the return match on June 16.

The hosts got goals from Orlando Mitchum and Romaine Sawyers and were close to securing a win before Bonilla's equaliser in the 86th minute.

Deon McCaulay scored two goals to help Belize win their away leg at the Dominican Republic 2-1.

McCaulay opened the scoring in the 13th minute and Belize held on until Geremy Lombardi equalised in the 71st. But McCaulay put home a rebound two minutes from time to give the visitors the victory.
