El Tri adds Sinha for tuneup vs. Finland

El Tri coach Miguel "El Piojo" Herrera added 37-year-old midfielder Antonio Naelson "Sinha" to the squad headed to San Diego for a tuneup match vs. Finland Oct. 30.

Sinha, who plays with Toluca and recently announced his plans to retire at the end of this Mexican League season, last saw action with El Tri for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup and was implicated in the team's "contaminated meat" scandal. FIFA subsequently dropped the positive steroid test charges against Sinha and the rest of the players.

Sinha was added in substitution for Lucas Lobos, the 32-year-old Tigres midfielder, declined Herrera's offer for personal reasons. Sinha is a Brazil native who is a naturalized Mexican citizen while Lobos is a native of Argentina, also given Mexican citizenship.
