Swaziland and Niger take control in African World Cup qualifying

Swaziland are all but assured a place in the third round of African World Cup qualifying after coasting to a 6-0 win in Djibouti on Friday.

There seemed to be little evidence of the rout when Mthunzi Mkhontfo finally broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time, but after the hour Sabelo Ndzinisa's goal opened the floodgates.

Further efforts from Muzi Dlamini, Sandile Hlatjwako, Tony Tsabedze and Mxolisi Lukhele saw Swaziland run away with the first leg of the tie.

Niger are also in a strong position after they won 2-0 in Somalia. Two second-half goals from Moussa Maazou, the second a penalty, earned the victory.

In the final game, Gambia and Namibia played out a 1-1 draw. Petrus Shitembi put the visitors in front just after the hour but Demba Savage ensured the tie would be level going into the second leg.
