Mo Marley has named her first England women's squad.

Interim head coach Mo Marley has shown her confidence in the England Women players who featured in predecessor Mark Sampson's final match after naming the squad to face France next week.

Sampson was sacked the day after England's 6-0 World Cup qualifying win against Russia over matters related to his behaviour in a previous job at Bristol Academy.

Marley has chosen her first squad on almost identical lines to the last selection, meaning there is no recall for Chelsea striker Eni Aluko.

Baroness Sue Campbell, the UK's head of women's football, has backed Football Association chief executive Martin Glenn over the sacking of England women's coach Mark Sampson.

Sampson's contract was terminated on Wednesday based on evidence of "inappropriate and unacceptable" behaviour in a previous role contained in a safeguarding report.

Glenn and FA chairman Greg Clarke are under fierce scrutiny over why it took so long to sack the 34-year-old in relation to allegations first reported to the FA...

England women's boss Mark Sampson sacked over 'unacceptable behaviour'

Mark Sampson has said he did nothing wrong with regard to striker Eni Aluko.

England women's manager Mark Sampson has been sacked over "inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour" relating to his time in charge at Bristol Academy.

Sampson, 34, who led England to a 6-0 win over Russia in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, has been the subject of allegations of racism, harassment and bullying. But the decision to remove Sampson from the post is not in connection to that, and the Football Association said it "stands by the findings of the independent barrister Katharine Newton's...
