Bakary Sako keen to stay at Wolves

Bakary Sako wants to remain with Wolves and play a vital role in Stale Solbakken's bid to guide the club into the Championship promotion picture.

The French-born winger's impressive start to life in English football, since his £3 million summer transfer from St Etienne, has alerted Premier League scouts as well as interest from Genoa and Stuttgart.

Manager Solbakken has already stated he is determined to keep the 24-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 14 games, in January as he looks to mount a play-off challenge in the second half of the season.

And Sako has further eased fears that he could be prized away from Molineux by underlining his own commitment to the Championship club after few problems adapting to life in English football.

“I am really enjoying it here and just playing game to game and doing as well as I can. I am playing with confidence and enjoying my football," said Sako.

“I have found it easy to adapt. I don’t mind the physical side of the game and how quick it is. I enjoy that. In a way it has been natural but the manager and my team-mates have certainly helped me a lot."

Sako has helped Wolves to two successive wins to ease the pressure on manager Solbakken, following an alarming slide down the Championship table.

Wolves remain in 16th place, but are only five points off the top six and Sako feels the squad Solbakken has assembled since taking charge in the summer is beginning to take shape.

“We have got a very dangerous attack at the moment. When we link together and attack the opposition we can be a threat as a team and we have to keep that going," he said. “It is important we keep winning at home, but we know we need a lot of points to get up the table. That is what we are aiming to do."
