Aritz Borda, Western Sydney Wanderers part ways

Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the exit of Spanish defender Aritz Borda from the A-League club by mutual consent.

Borda linked up with the Wanderers in July 2016 and made his debut in the FFA Cup before going on to make 19 appearances in all competitions.

The 32-year-old journeyman is rumoured to be joining Indian Super League side FC Goa.

Borda's departure opens up another visa spot for coach Tony Popovic to fill, with the Wanderers already active in the transfer market.

Earlier this week they announced the signing of Spanish attacker Alvaro Cejudo, joining compatriot and striker Oriol Riera, as the club's marquee recruits.

The pair join Chris Herd, Michael Thwaite, Roly Bonevacia and Josh Risdon as new faces at the Wanderers this season, with striker Mark Bridge also returning to the club.
