Western Sydney name Socceroo Dario Vidosic as their marquee player

Australia attacker Dario Vidosic has returned to the A-League in a two-year deal with 2014 AFC Asian Champions League winners, Western Sydney.

The 28-year-old moves from FC Sion in Switzerland, taking up the Wanderers' marquee spot for the next two seasons.

Vidosic is a former Adelaide United forward who also played four seasons in the Bundesliga between 2007-11 for clubs that included FC Nurnburg. He's earned 23 caps for the Socceroos, scoring two goals since 2009.

"Dario has a fantastic technical ability and we welcome him to the club and look forward to making him feel at home within the team and importantly within our club culture," Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said in an official statement.

"I am sure Dario will receive a very warm welcome from our fans as we all look forward to a very successful season ahead."

Western Sydney have had a major shakeup in their playing stocks after last season's disappointing ninth place finish in the 10-team A-League.

Tsatsimas added: "We have had a very busy off-season ensuring we recruit a playing group that have the drive and ability to take our club to the next stage of its evolution."

Vidosic was in Australia's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup but didn't feature in January's AFC Asian Cup triumph on home soil.
