Javier Hernandez stresses West Ham commitment after Chivas link

West Ham striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez has denied a report that claimed he wanted to return to his first club, Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara, in January.

Hernandez, who joined West Ham in the summer, wrote on Twitter that the report, by Marca Claro, was "completely false."

He said that although he was a Chivas fan he wanted to stay at West Ham, now managed by David Moyes, to help them away from the wrong end of the Premier League table.

He wrote: "I'm 100 percent committed to improve the situation we are in at West Ham.

"As I've always said, I'm a Chivas supporter at heart, but I have absolutely never requested to leave West Ham."

Hernandez, who moved to West Ham from Bayer Leverkusen, made his debut for Chivas in 2006 and went on to play 80 matches for them.

Earlier this month, Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio said he did not believe the arrival of Moyes would affect Hernandez's opportunities and form ahead of the World Cup.

Moyes started Hernandez in only five Premier League games during his spell in charge of Manchester United in the 2013-14 season.

But Osorio told a news conference: "Javier is an intelligent person. He will take it as a fresh challenge to win the starting spot."
