John Terry 'admirer' Slaven Bilic won't rule out summer move by West Ham

Slaven Bilic won't rule out a summer move for Chelsea's John Terry, after admitting he is an "admirer" of the veteran Blues skipper.

Terry, who announced last week that he is leaving Chelsea at the end of the season, is likely to cause a scramble for his signature despite being 36 and Bilic said West Ham could well be one of his suitors.

"We are going to see,'' Bilic said. "I'm a big admirer of John, he is one of the best that ever played, not only in that position but in general.

"He won everything, he did everything and we are talking about an England captain, a true leader.

"We are pretty well covered in that position, we have quality and we have experience, but we will see. You never say never.''

Meanwhile, Andy Carroll has been ruled out of West Ham's weekend clash with Everton after aggravating an injury against Sunderland on Saturday.

His latest injury was caused by miskicking the ball as he went to shoot, as the luckless West Ham striker suffered a recurrence of a groin problem during the opening five minutes of the 2-2 draw with the Black Cats.

Fortunately for the Hammers, Carroll's wayward effort fell at the feet of Andre Ayew, who tapped in the opening goal at the Stadium of LIght.

Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll will miss West Ham's Saturday match against Everton after aggravating a groin injury.

However, even though Carroll played the full 90 minutes, the injury has now ruled him out of Saturday's match at the Olympic Stadium.

"It's his adductor muscle again,'' said manager Slaven Bilic. "He felt it in the beginning of the game.

"We can talk about a miskick or an assist for Andre's goal, but he said at that moment he felt it.

"He had a scan after the game, it showed nothing major but it's serious enough to rule him out of Saturday's game.''

The groin issue is the latest in a catalogue of injury problems for Carroll, who missed the first part of the season with a knee injury and even suffered whiplash soon after scoring an overhead kick against Crystal Palace in January.

With top scorer Michail Antonio out for the rest of the season, Bilic will be hoping Diafra Sakho will be available to face Everton.

There was speculation that Sakho did not travel to Sunderland after refusing to be a substitute, but Bilic has denied reports of a bust-up.

"He was injured,'' Bilic said. "There was no row, I should know about that because it was me who spoke with him. He was injured.''
