West Ham boss Slaven Bilic relieved to win in London Stadium debut

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic was pleased to get off the mark in his side's first Premier League game at their new home, which brought a late win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Hammers, who lost their opening match of the season at Chelsea, took the points as a late Michail Antonio winner was enough for a 1-0 win at the London Stadium.

Bilic predicted that the victory would calm any nerves about the move, saying: >"If we didn't win, people would start asking questions like: 'Is it a proper home?'

"It's like a snowball so now hopefully we stopped it -- with a great team spirit.''

West Ham have lost Andy Carroll, Dimitri Payet and Andre Ayew to injury, and there have been suggestions that Bilic will need to dip into the transfer market.

He is set to talk about that with the club on Monday, but revealed that Payet and Manuel Lanzini could be back for the Europa League return leg against Astra Giurgiu.

"Lanzini and Payet should be back on Thursday and if not Thursday then Sunday,'' he said.

"With Andy and Andre Ayew it's long term. Are we going to be very active? We're going to try to find a good one [new signing].''

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe saw his side suffer a second successive loss, with Harry Arter sent off for a second booking.

Arter's first yellow card was for dissent -- as officials crack down on players arguing about decisions -- and Howe was not best pleased.

"I thought it was our game for the taking but for a lack of discipline,'' he said.

"We've all been told about that [the crackdown on dissent]. We have to be better on that.

"I thought we had the best opportunities in the game and weren't clinical enough.

"How we haven't scored at the end I don't know."
