Michail Antonio: West Ham will soon make Olympic Stadium their home

Michail Antonio believes West Ham will make the Olympic Stadium a "fortress" next season.

The Hammers are making the move to their new 60,000-seater ground this summer, having said goodbye to their home for 112 years, the Boleyn Ground, last season.

Antonio, 26, concedes it will be tough moving on, but is confident West Ham can turn the Olympic Stadium into an intimidating place for visiting teams to come.

"The Boleyn Ground is West Ham's history and our entire past is there," he told the Evening Standard.

"It's going to be weird at first, moving to a new ground, but I reckon we can make it our home.

"We're going to make it a fortress and hopefully we can do what we did this year at Upton Park. Good things are coming."

West Ham, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, won their final game at the Boleyn Ground after seeing off Manchester United 3-2.

Antonio was on the score sheet for the Hammers in that game last month, and he says he is proud to have found the back of the net on such a historic night for the East London club.

"To be able to say I was one of the last players to score at the Boleyn Ground is a great achievement," he said. "That's something that I'm always going to hold to myself.

"It's the last ever game at the Boleyn Ground so we felt the nerves to get the victory so that we could send the fans home happy."
