West Ham manager Slaven Bilic targeting FA Cup glory

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic feels he has a squad capable of achieving FA Cup glory this season.

Bilic was able to make seven changes to his starting lineup as Nikica Jelavic's late goal secured a 1-0 win over Wolves in the third round.

With the exception of reserve goalkeeper Darren Randolph, every player Bilic drafted in has had a role to play this season due to the injury crisis which hit the Hammers a couple of months ago.

And with Dimitri Payet, Winston Reid and Andy Carroll fit again, and Victor Moses, Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini not far away, Bilic has his sights set on a cup run in West Ham's final season at Upton Park.

"We don't play in Europe, we are not in a situation of Liverpool who have two cups and Europe and all that," he said.

"It's good that we put the players who didn't play last week into the team but it wasn't a big risk because when we had all those players out injured all those other players played.

"Not one of them was short of match fitness, they are all regulars, and that's why it was much easier for them to start the game.

"Some of them did really well, nobody was disappointing. Some made a plus, some a smaller plus, but all came out with a plus."

Jelavic picked an opportune moment to score his first goal for the Hammers, sweeping in a superb volley from Carroll's lay-off five minutes from time.

The Croatian has been mainly used as a substitute this season and skipper Mark Noble felt he was a deserved match-winner.

"I'm delighted for Jela that he got his goal," Noble told the club website.

"He works so hard in training every day, puts a real shift in and he hasn't had a lot of game time, but when it dropped to him it was a top-quality finish."

For Wolves boss Kenny Jackett it is back to trying to mount a Championship promotion challenge having recovered from a difficult start to the season.

"There is a lot of heart in the side and that is getting us competitive, and we want to go one further now and be regular winners," he said.

"That is the challenge of the Championship and as a club now that is our challenge."
