Winston Reid set to leave West Ham, says Sam Allardyce

Reported Arsenal target Winston Reid is likely to leave West Ham United at the end of the season, according to manager Sam Allardyce.

Reid's current contract at Upton Park expires in the summer and it has been speculated that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in his signature.

Allardyce said in December that the club would not be willing to allow the 26-year-old to leave for cheap in January, and would rather he left for free at the end of the campaign.

Speaking on Monday, Allardyce said: "There is no future for Winston Reid at West Ham United at the moment because his contract finishes. The only is that his contract finishes June 30. He hasn't said he is going to sign and he hasn't said he is isn't.

"But you would you err on the side that he isn't by the feel and the look of it at this moment in time, by the know-how in the football world I have been talking to -- other managers and so forth about the situation so I would say it is highly unlikely that Winston is going to sign for us based on what people are saying to me."

Centre-back Reid signed for West Ham from Midtjylland in 2010 and has since made 103 league starts for the club.

After an impressive first half of the season, West Ham are currently seventh in the Premier League table, a point behind Arsenal.
