No West Brom deal for goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey

West Brom are keen on Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, but have not agreed a fee with the Eagles.

Reports on Tuesday suggested the Baggies had struck a deal with Palace for around £3.5 million, but sources tell Press Association there has not been a bid nor any fresh contact between the clubs.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis is a fan of the keeper but Hennessey is set to travel to Germany for Palace's friendly with Union Berlin on Saturday.

The Baggies have Boaz Myhill and rookie Jack Rose as goalkeepers as Ben Foster recovers from a cruciate knee ligament injury, with the England stopper not expected to return until October.

Pulis signed Hennessey for Palace from Wolves in January 2014 but he has been unable to replace Julian Speroni as the club's number one.

The Wales international has made just eight appearances, four in the Premier League, although he played in their final two matches against Liverpool and Swansea last season.

Pulis is currently in America with his Baggies squad and they are due to return next week.
