Walter Mazzarri set to shuffle Watford pack for FA Cup clash with Millwall

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri will not be afraid to ring the changes ahead of his side's potential banana skin of an FA Cup tie at Millwall on Sunday.

The Hornets head to the Den to take on the Lions, 10th in League One, as they embark on a run of three pivotal matches inside six days with a trip to Arsenal on Tuesday before West Brom travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Watford will face a Millwall side which stunned Bournemouth in the previous round with a deserved 3-0 victory against the Premier League club.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe elected to make 11 changes to his side, but Mazzarri, whose Watford team have slumped to 14th in the table following a winless streak which now stands at seven matches, suggested that the magic of FA Cup may have to take a back seat.

"I see there is a lot of attention on what we should do against Millwall," Mazzarri said. "I didn't see this attention and appreciation when we beat Burton in the last round with a team that was missing a lot of the starting 11 players and playing with youngsters like (Brandon) Mason.

"In the FA Cup, anything can happen. With three games in one week, any decision I take there will be a problem so I will try and make the decision and play the best possible team for three games.

"The FA Cup means a lot to me, but you cannot play on Sunday without thinking about the games with Arsenal on Tuesday and Burnley on Saturday.

"I think a lot about the FA Cup, but there will be some changes and some of those who don't play too often will get a game."

Watford reached the semi-final of the FA Cup last year following a fine run in the competition under Quique Sanchez Flores.

But Spaniard Flores was still given his marching orders at the end of the season despite keeping Watford comfortably in the division on their return to the Premier League.

"Of course everything is important for us, all of the games and as I said before we will do everything to give all we can game by game," Mazzarri added.

"I have seen many teams going through negative results in the Premier League, but the important thing is that our performances are getting better and the objective we have at the end of the season is of course reached."
