Watford and manager Quique Sanchez Flores to hold 'in-depth' summer talks

Watford have made no decision on the future of manager Quique Sanchez Flores and will hold in-depth discussions with the Spaniard at the end of the season, a club statement has said.

Flores, who was appointed at Vicarage Road last summer, has led the Hornets to mid-table in the Premier League and the FA Cup semifinals, in which they lost to Crystal Palace at Wembley.

But an inconsistent run of league form over the second half of the season -- despite which Watford are in 12th place and clear of the relegation battle -- created speculation that his position was under threat.

In a statement to the Press Association, the Hertfordshire club said: "As the club has consistently made clear, no decision has been made on the future of Quique Sanchez Flores and certainly no decision will be taken until the club has held in-depth discussions with Quique.

"Those discussions will only take place once the season has finished.

"Quique has a two-year contract and the club would stress it is very happy with the job Quique and his staff have done this season."

Watford host relegated Aston Villa on Saturday, looking to record what would be a second win in their last three league matches.
