Quique Flores to manage Watford in Premier League next season

Watford have turned to Quique Flores to lead them in their return to the Premier League next season.

The Hornets announced that they had hired Flores as manager on a two-year contract on Friday.

Flores, 50, took over as coach of Getafe in January but resigned before the end of February.

He has also coached Valencia and Atletico Madrid -- where he won the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2010 -- in Spain, Benfica in Portugal, and Al Ahli and Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.

Watford will play in the Premier League for the first time since 2006-07 after finishing runners-up in the Championship last season.
