Wales hero Hal Robson-Kanu: We've worked so hard to reach Euro semis

Wales goal scorer Hal Robson-Kanu says that his teammates deserve their place in the Euro 2016 semifinals after a stunning 3-1 win over Belgium.

After Radja Nainggolan's wonderful opener, Ashley Williams got Wales level with a header before Robson-Kanu's spectacular goal after a brilliant turn in the box put Wales ahead and Sam Vokes finished it off with five minutes to play.

"Fantastic. We did well to get back into the game. We knew if we kept playing like in the first half we'd get our just rewards. It's hard to describe," Robson-Kanu told the BBC. "We've worked so hard for this over the last eight years. Long may it continue.

"We played them a few times in the past few years and know how to play against them. We kept to our game plan. We've got world-class players -- we can be as solid as a rock defensively. With those two combined we stand a good chance."

Wales will now face Portugal, and Cristiano Ronaldo, in the semifinals.

Williams added: "I'm pleased [to score]. I'm more pleased we got through. I don't score many goals. It's hard to take in at the minute. I think we responded well.

"We were ever so pleased to get here, and then get out of the group. I don't know what it means until I go home tonight and take it all in. We're not looking that far [winning the tournament] yet. We've got a difficult game to come."

Wales have become the smallest nation to make it to the Euro semifinals, with a population of three million, and Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen admitted it was not in the script.

"Words fail me. We never thought we would be in this position," he said. "We knew we were going to score tonight and as soon as we got level we were confident that we would go on and win the game. That's what this team is about and it's going to take something special to stop us."
