Gareth Bale: Wales go into Russia game stronger for England defeat

Wales go into their final Euro 2016 Group B game even stronger for the defeat against England, Gareth Bale has said.

Wales looked likely to earn a point against England, in a game that Bale had given the lead in, before Daniel Sturridge's added-time winner secured a 2-1 win and three points for Roy Hodgson's side.

But Bale is confident Wales can bounce back against Russia and seal the victory needed to earn a place in the knockout stage of the tournament.

He said: "The tournament is not over yet. We are still in the thick of it and we will go into our last game with even more strength."

Chris Coleman wants his team to put their "gut-wrenching" disappointment behind them quickly if they are to overcome an experienced Russia side.

"It's all in the last game," the Wales coach said. "Russia have got experience. Whichever team are able to put the disappointments behind them, they'll be the ones to prevail."

Meanwhile, Denis Glushakov, who scored for Russia in their 2-1 defeat against Slovakia, knows they must up their game in order to salvage a disappointing European Championship campaign.

He said: "We need to move forward and give it 100 percent or even 200 percent and then we will get a result."
