Mario Gomez says he has never experienced anything like it as he drew another blank in Wolfsburg's goalless Bundesliga draw with Mainz on Sunday.
The Germany international has played the full 90 minutes of each of Wolfsburg's games since he joined at the end of the transfer window but is yet to open his account for the club.
That run includes three goalless draws and two defeats and Gomez believes there is some sort of curse hanging over him and the side.
"It's a bitter moment for all of us," Gomez told sport1.de. "I've never experienced anything like it in my career. Maybe we're not doing enough or maybe it's bad luck, but we need to find it out."
Gomez, the Turkish Super Lig's top scorer last season, has yet to add to the 138 Bundesliga goals he scored for Stuttgart and Bayern Munich before moving to Fiorentina two years ago, but is not the only misfiring player for Wolfsburg.
Julian Draxler also missed a great opportunity to score for the club against Mainz.
"The ball just won't go in for us at the moment," Draxler said. "We have much higher expectations than what we are delivering at the moment."
The draw leaves Wolfsburg 13th in the Bundesliga after six games of the season, three points above the bottom three and four off the top six.
