New Wolfsburg signing Max Kruse is just as good as Liverpool-bound Roberto Firmino, according to sporting director Klaus Allofs.
Firmino is to sign for Liverpool from Wolfsburg for a reported fee of £29 million after scoring seven Bundesliga goals last season.
In May, Wolfsburg announced the €12 million signing of Kruse from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Monchengladbach after he scored 11 league goals last campaign.
Speaking about the addition, Allofs told Wolfsburger Nachrichten: "Compared to Firmino, Max Kruse was cheap and he is not worse than him."
Meanwhile, Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is convinced Andre Schurrle will justify the €32 million the club paid Chelsea in January, despite his return of just one goal since the switch.
"Schurrle will become a decisive factor for our team" Hecking told Wolfsburger Allgemeine.
"He only had some unlucky finishes last season. Bas Dost was a prime example of how much a player can profit from a good run.
"In training he has the best shooting technique and scores the most goals. The other players know as well what he's capable of."
