Jermaine Jones unretires, signs with MASL side Ontario Fury

Former United States international Jermaine Jones has come out of retirement to play for Major Arena Soccer League side Ontario Fury.

Jones, 37, most recently played one match for Ventura County Fusion in 2018 and last featured in MLS in 2017 with the LA Galaxy.

The German-born midfielder moved to MLS in 2014 after a lengthy career in Europe, including Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen. He also made 129 appeareances for Schalke 04 from 2007-2014 and had a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers in 2011.

He joined the New England Revolution in 2014 and also played for the Colorado Rapids for one season.

Jones represented his native country before making the switch to the Stars and Stripes in 2010. He was part of the United States squad at the 2014 World Cup.

Jones is the latest notable former U.S. star to join the indoor club league. Landon Donovan joined the San Diego Sockers last month, and has three goals so far this season.

Jones' Fury and Donovan's Sockers will play each other on April 4.
