USMNT to face Bolivia in Philadelphia friendly in May

The United States men's national team will play Bolivia in a friendly in Chester, Pennsylvania, on May 28 in a matchup between nations that failed to qualify for the World Cup.

The match, announced on Thursday, comes before the Americans play Ireland in Dublin on June 2 and face France at Lyon on June 9.

The U.S. plans to train in the Philadelphia area for about a week ahead of the Bolivia match on Memorial Day.

The U.S. has played a pair of friendlies under interim coach Dave Sarachan, drawing 1-1 at Portugal in November and 0-0 at home against Bosnia and Herzegovina last month.

Sarachan will lead the team in a March 27 game against Paraguay at Cary, North Carolina.

Carlos Cordeiro was elected to succeed Sunil Gulati as USSF president last month and said a general manager of the men's team will be hired and lead the search for a coach. It is not clear whether the search will be delayed until after the World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 15.
