Laurent Blanc has been approached about the vacant head coach roles with the U.S. men's national team and the Australia side bound for next summer's World Cup, his agent has told L'Equipe.
Blanc will be at Friday's World Cup draw in Moscow as a former winner of football's most prestigious prize, and will help draw the names of the 32 teams for the competition's group stage.
The former France and Bordeaux boss has been out of work since being replaced by Unai Emery at Paris Saint-Germain in summer 2016.
His name had been put forward as a potential candidate for the U.S. position, vacant following Bruce Arena's resignation after he failed to take the country to the World Cup finals.
Blanc's agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, told L'Equipe U.S. Soccer had been in contact, as had the Australian FA, which is seeking a replacement for Ange Postecoglou after he quit after guiding the Socceroos to Russia.
"He's looking forward to starting again, but he doesn't want to coach for coaching's sake. He wants to try to get a big project, at a big club. If the project doesn't arrive, we'll see. We get offers all the time, from clubs from national teams...," Bernes said, before revealing the names of the countries involved: "The USA, Australia for the World Cup..."
When asked whether Blanc would not be interested in taking Australia at the World Cup, a competition he did not coach in during his two-year stint as boss of France between 2010 and 2012, Bernes said: "Not really, no. We have also had some English clubs. But when you have coached Paris, you want something at least as good."
